Life as a MurderARRR

Hey all. FoCoMX went successfully this year, and we enjoyed seeing all of your lovely faces out and about. Recording has been put to a hault yet a gain due to some unfortunate band hiccups including illness and some possible member reconfiguration. So stay tuned for the next chapter in MurderARRRs history!

What we’re up to

So you know we’ve been on a bit of a break… here’s one of the awesome things that happened during our hiatus. Steph’s band, Wasteland Hop recorded an album and made a music video for my favorite song of theirs!  Check it out! -Bladeybug

Branching…Out…On a Limb

So a couple of weeks ago (9/24/11) while Steph was out of town, the rest of us got together at Pateros Creek Brewery for Stevetoberfest as Vegetable Deadly. Vegetable Deadly weren’t quite as baleful as the MurderARRRs, but it was still malefic… Which reminds us, don’t forget to check out all of our other projects such as: Wasteland Hop, Talisker Skye, The Tramps, Stella Luce and more! (additional links available on the “Meat” page)

The Business of Murder

Our great young friend, Eris Swager (who is currently residing over in Korea) has designed us a new logo:

We look forward to having some new merch printed up with it in the (hopefully) not too distant future. In the meantime, we’ve reordered stickers and have a few t-shirts left, so get them while they are hot!

Murder in the Rockies

We’re almost done with our July Front Range Tour, and we’ve been having so much fun!

July 1st we kicked off our tour at the Mercury Cafe in Denver. Old friends came and showed love and support. The Roma Cabaret was fantastical with Gora Gora Orkestar, Juggling, Magic, and Dancing including the ever lovely Josie Dembiczak.

July 8th we wrapped up the celestial portion of our tour at the Zodiac in Colorado Springs. The Good Morning Accordion Terrorist started us off with his fantastic entertaining skills, Face Man came from Denver and wowed us with their unique sounds and startling sculpture. It was lovely to see so many old familiar faces, and we had a blast.

July 9th we continued on to Monroe’s in Loveland. Playing a hotel lounge was a new experience (well for half of us at least) and fun as well. Family and friends gathered to keep us company in a venue where we didn’t know who to expect!

Next up we will finish up our Front Range Tour at the Triple Nickel in Colorado Springs Saturday, July 16th. We’re looking forward to wrapping up the city’s pride fest, and seeing all the people we missed on our previous trip down to the Springs with a visit from the Good Morning Accordion Terrorist as well as The Reagan Years from Reno, NV.

Don’t worry, this isn’t the last of The MurderARRRs. Keep checking the “shows” page for an event near you!

Bio

In 2010, Steph Jay was seeking some accompaniment. She enlisted the cello talent of Kira Sands. Some time later, Kira contacted Bladeybug to add some saw to the mix. Within days, Little Red Head Jen and her trumpet were recruited, and they began playing the local Fort Collins scene. Two weeks after the four started playing together, they opened for Mini KISS, and the world hasn’t been the same since. Now with the addition of Sadie and her washboard and suitcase playing skills the five are killing audiences frequently in northern Colorado.
